Your designs never leave your browser

Images, videos and PDFs you add to Framecheck are read and rendered entirely on your own device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, we never see them, and nothing about them is stored on a server. Exports are generated in your browser too. Closing the tab discards them.

Feedback you send us

If you use the feedback button, we store what you typed, the category you picked (bug, idea or general), and your email address if you chose to give one. It's saved in a database hosted by Supabase and emailed to us via Resend so we can read and reply. Your email address is only ever used to reply to you, never for marketing, and never shared. Leave it blank and your feedback is anonymous.

Analytics

Two things run here, and they're treated differently:

Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights: always on

Counts page views and measures loading performance. It sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device, so it can't follow you around and doesn't need your consent.

PostHog: only with your consent

Product analytics and session recording, which help us see where people get stuck. It only loads if you press Accept. Decline and the script is never fetched at all.

It records which platform and format you chose, what kind of file you added (image, video or PDF), and whether you exported, along with a replay of your clicks, scrolling and navigation. It sets a cookie so a return visit can be recognised as the same browser, which is how we tell whether people find the tool useful enough to come back. That identifier isn't linked to your name or email, and we never try to work out who an individual visitor is.

Text you type is masked and never recorded, so captions and brand names stay out of replays. Your uploaded designs are never captured either. Data is processed on PostHog's EU infrastructure.

What “essential only” means here

Most sites offer an “essential only” option because they run several kinds of non-essential tracking. We run one, PostHog, so choosing essential only means it never loads. The single thing kept is a note in your browser's local storage recording the choice you made, so we don't ask again on every page. There are no advertising, marketing or personalisation cookies here at all, and the tool behaves identically either way.

Your choice

You can change your mind at any time. This brings the banner back so you can pick again. Declining also stops any further recording and clears the identifier PostHog had assigned you.

You haven't chosen yet.

Building or testing the site? . That stops PostHog and the cookieless page-view and performance measurements alike, and is the same as visiting any page with ?notrack.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. In practice the only thing we're likely to hold is feedback you sent us. Use the feedback button in the tool to ask and we'll sort it. You also have the right to complain to the ICO.
